Ali and Nino are deeply in love, so much so they literally merge into one another. The seven metre, seven tonne Love Statue on the boulevard of Batumi is a reflection of endless love between lovers of two neighbouring nations. The story is akin to the tale of Romeo and Juliet portraying an Azerbajani boy falling for a Georgia Princess. Every evening at 7pm the statues light up and move closer together before becoming one and then separating with their backs to each other.
