Marina Wang's experience in Beijing

Aryouju
One of the most typical Beijing dishes is zhajianmian, roughly translating to ‘fried meat #noodles’. The sauce is made of fried minced meat mixed with a savoury fermented soybean paste, and the dish is typically topped off with edamame and julienned cucumber and radishes. Zhajianmian is another commoner food with a royal touch—according to legend, the dish was a streetside favourite of Empress Dowager Cixi when she fled the Forbidden City during the Boxer Rebellion. Zhajiamian is found at local eateries all over Beijing, but Aryouju is one the oldest and most renowned establishments. #restaurant #dinner
