Yeuk Hui Study Hall
Long before Yuen Long became a major residential area, it was a small market village for an ancient clan from China. Their settlement in Hong Kong dates back to the 1300s and today, ancestral halls and living quarters that they built still stand on the grounds. Don't be discourage to visit by the grey and worn-down exteriors of the buildings. Inside the giant wooden doors, you can experience what it was like to live among (sculpted) golden dragons and phoenixes that still occupy the ceiling beams and doors of the living quarters. #history #architecture #statue #gallery #art
