Sensō-ji
According to legend, two brothers fished a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida River in 628. A Buddhist temple dedicated to Kannon was built nearby in 645, making Sensoji Tokyo's oldest temple. The temple has been rebuilt several times over the centuries and the current main building was rebuilt after World War Two. In front of the temple, you can join the crowds wafting incense over themselves for healing, buying fortunes to determine their luck, or amulets for protection. #tokyo #temple #asakusa
