Although an extremely emotional place, the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum is a must-see whilst in Kraków. It’s about an hour and a half drive and there are public transport options and tour buses too. I believe that the holocaust and the suffering of its victims must be remembered in order to prevent a tragedy like this again. You must book a time online (and it’s worth booking several months before) but entrance is free. I did a guided tour (3.5 hrs), for which the fee was minimal. The tour guide was very understanding and informative. Obviously impossible to describe such a place but it’s an extremely important part of history that must be visited whilst so close in Kraków! #krakow #auschwitz #museum #memorial #history #free
