Ribeira Square
This district is the beating heart of Porto and you’ll find yourself returning to it over and over again. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site along the Douro River with views of the magnificent Ponte de Dom Luis. Restaurants, cafes, street musicians, fountains and restored (and not so restored) buildings are all on top of each other here in a buoyant, bustling jumble. If this place doesn’t bring a smile to your face, nothing will.
