South Terrace Trail

The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area is an unexpected urban oasis in downtown Phoenix. Its mission is to restore the native wetland of the Salt River. The South Terrace Trail stretches the length of this conservation area, and offers a greener, wetter outdoor experience than most outdoor spaces in the city offer. This trail is over three miles long, it stretches from 15th Ave to just past 24th street, and runs parallel to the Rio Salado riparian. It’s not a difficult hike and is perfect for leisurely nature lovers who want to learn about the flora and fauna of the region.
