Malmö Opera
The Malmo Opera may not be the grandest of them all. But the production of “Rigoletto” that I saw here featured high quality voices and a clever, inventive production which displayed little of the outright weirdness that has occasionally made operas in other European houses difficult to sit through. The spacious and attractive lobby area allows for a pleasant intermission where you can grab a bite to eat, enjoy a glass of wine or have a taste of their own house-made craft beer. Other performances, such as classical music concerts and Broadway musicals (“Pippin” in Swedish, anyone?) also take place here.
