In the shadow of the castle of the same name, The Ypres (pronounced by locals, purposefully erroneously, as "Wipers") is a fantastic little pub - particularly in Summer. You see, it probably has the best beer garden in Sussex - a sprawling great expanse of grass halfway up the side of the cliff, between the salt flats and Church Square at the top of the hill.
