The Cathedral of Santa María la Menor ranks as the oldest ever church to be standing in the western hemisphere. A military service had been taking place when I rocked up, allowing me chance to take some shots of some guards lined up outside. The gothic style architecture, vaulted ceiling and hewn white ashlars set off the adornments in perfect harmony with each other, making this visit one to remember. #architecture #history
