Before heading off to Greece, we heard some version of “You only need a day in Athen. See the Parthenon and then head to the beach.” from more than a few friends. All I can say is that they are, forgive me folks, dead wrong.. For a city as historic and important as Athens, it’s not surprising that it is home to dozens of world class museums. True culture vultures with be in heaven! Oh, and even if you are initially turned off by all the graffiti in the city, after a while it starts to feel like works of art in progress and just part of the landscape that makes Athen so interesting. So stop griping and just embrace it..
