Poděbrady is an upmarket spa town just 50 kilometres east of Prague. From the moment you step out of the railway station the town welcomes visitors with colourful, meticulously kept flower beds and hedgerows. The unhurried atmosphere certainly makes it pleasing to be there. Whether one choose to while away one’s time sipping iced coffee in spring or ensconcing themselves in a spa during the colder months; Poděbrady doesn’t need many attractions to satisfy. The castle is a gem and the river adds a pleasing dimension to the town.
