The Golden Ring of Russia north-east of Moscow, epitomises the onion-domed churches and cathedrals Russia is so well-known for. It was here that much of the religious architecture around the country was based and the cluster of 8 famed towns were partly responsible for the formation of the Russian Orthodox Church from 12th century. My road trip encompasses 5 of these towns each with their own personality and charm.
