Katie Scott Aiton's question in Costa Rica

Stay / Outdoor

After a couple of months of consideration my friend and I have decided to change our holiday to Nicaragua to Costa Rica at the end of this month. We are back to the drawing board and doing rookie research. If anyone has coastal suggestions we will be grateful. We are surfers, in our 30s, looking for eco-friendly resorts. We’d like a party atmosphere but not backpacker nor upmarket resorts. Thanks in advance.

I agree that Puerto Viejo is great. I went to surf school there but it is no place for a beginner. Lol. I have friends who live in Nica and they say the situation isnt good. With many deaths, clashes with police and low food supplies, CR might be best. Nica is one of my favorite places and I cant wait for the calm to return.
Tamarindo area full of surf schools to advanced waves. Start your search there and then follow your heart. Good vibes with several beach front hotels that aren't for backpackers and aren't resorts. Casa de Las Tortugas was very good to me.
