I’m driving from Pittsburg, PA. to San Luis Obispo, CA. Helping a friend move. Which route would be best? Northern through Kansas, Colorado, and Utah? Or south through Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona? I really want to see Sedona, but my friend isn’t sold on it.

What is most important to you? Fun places to stop? Outdoor activities? Just getting there? I’ve done Pittsburgh to Denver on both I70 and I80. Kansas City to Denver. There’s a whole lot of nothingness and flat between Kansas City and Denver on 70 but denver to Vegas is amazing with lots of high… 
I’ve heard a lot of really good things about Sedona, but yes I believe my friend is more interested in the Colorado scenery and the Utah national parks. I’d like to drive the route that goes more south through Oklahoma and Texas and New Mexico but I believe she wants to take the route that goes to Kansas and Iowa.
Yeah I did Los Angeles to New Orleans Louisiana years ago also helping a friend move. We took a strange route but took to the pan handle / route 66 to avoid driving across the southern part of Texas for two days straight. We really should not have bothered. North Tx Oklahoma was just as bad. Just…
