Leah Ehman's question in Mexico

Food / Stay

I will be visiting Mexico City for the first time. I am looking for suggestions for things to do and see. I love culture, art, (especially contemporary and graffiti) authentic food and shopping. I’m not looking for the typical things to do list, I’m hoping that I can explore and visit some hidden gems. I would like to visit some small, locally visited places. I will be in Mexico City for the first two weeks of February. I still haven’t decided on a place to stay, but I would also appreciate some suggestions on a cool neighbourhood.

Hey Leah, Given your interest in contemporary art and culture, I’d suggest you stay in la Roma neighborhood. There are plenty of galleries and it’s the epicenter of street art in Mexico City. Look for street art chilango on Facebook. These guys organize walking street art tours on a regular basis.
That’s great! Thank you. I am happy you suggest la Roma. That is where I’ve found the most suitable rentals on home away and air bnb. I’m so excited to see this gorgeous city.
Happy to help! Feel free to reach me again if you have any more questions
