Map Room, New York Public Library
Walk through the main doors of this enormous building, turn right and at the end of the hall, sequestered behind two big wooden doors lies a cartophile’s dream. This is the largest map collection held by any public library in the world. You can get lost for hours just pursuing the books, atlases, sheet maps and displays, an activity I revel in and am sure many a fellow TravelStoke user does likewise.
