Public Palace of the Republic of San Marino
As far as laws and legislation goes this is where it all happens in San Marino. One profound fact about their system is there are in fact two heads of state known as 'Captains Regent' who serve a six-month term. Only on certain days can you enter the interior allowing you access to the Council Hall on the second floor. This is where you can see the leaders' seats side by side and places parliamentarians sit. The hall contains important references to its long history including the founding Saint Marinus and denizens of the country. Access to the palace is not free but can be entered with a multi-ticket pass for six euros. This gives you entry to a handful of other sites including Guaita Tower. I enjoyed walking around this small but uncrowded and significant building at my leisure. On the first floor there is also a video running you through some of San Marino's history. #palace #art #architecture #history #parliament
