The Stonewall Inn
The Stonewall is universally regarded as the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement when one summer night in 1969, patrons fed up with yet another unwarranted police raid, decided to fight back. Today any major event in the GLBT community of New York draws large, often spontaneous, crowds to this National Historic Landmark. And on ordinary days and nights, you can enjoy drag bingo, karaoke, billiards go go dancers or other popular activities offered up by any self-respecting gay bar, along with your drinks.
