The Dom Luís Bridge is a magnificent sight from every vantage point of Porto. Whether you are standing from the bottom deck looking down the river Douro or leaning from a balcony in the old town to watch boys jumping from the bridge; all perspectives are bewitching. The bridge has well over 100 years of history and is one of the key landmarks in Porto. What makes the bridge so enthralling are the different ways in which one can traverse its span. Take a taxi one way and climb to the upper deck through the narrow little streets from Ribera, on the north bank. Return to the south side on foot taking in the views of Porto below. Watch out for passing trains as there are no barriers between pedestrians and the tracks besides bollards studded down both sides of the pavements. #architecture #free #history #photography
