Climb a mountain and take in the view, best if you meet the koyo season! Japan is a mountainous country and you are likely to encounter a mountain in or nearby an onsen town. Take this time to enjoy the nature and the rustic surroundings. Soaking in an onsen is more rewarding after a good hike as well.
