John Oliver Cabin
Located in Cades Cove behind a big beautiful grass field with a stunning view of the mountains in front of it, this historical cabin was owned by John and Lucretia Oliver, the first permanent white settlers of Cades Cove in the 1820s. This cabin is one of the most-visited historical structures in all of the Smoky Mountains National Park, and one of the things I find most interesting about the cabin is that it only uses notches corners to hold it together, no nails or anything!
The cabin is about a two-minute walk from where you park your vehicle, so there's no reason not to stop by while you're in the Smokies! #smokymountains #history #achitecture #outdoor
