Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque
The Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque is very welcoming to visitors coming to Sarajevo. Entrance to the mosque is 3KM (1.5 euros) and shaylas are available at ticket office close to the entrance. The sahn is open to non-muslims in order to observe the call to prayer as devotees line up and perform daily prayer in and outside the mosque. It's one of the most vivid experiences I had witnessing Islamic rituals in spite of my several encounters in over a dozen Muslim countries across the world. If there is one mosque you should see in Sarajevo then this one should be it. It is the most atmospheric whilst being the most centrally positioned in the heart of the lively Old Town. #religion #culture #mosques #multiculturalism #oldtown
