Golden Lane
Golden Lane or Zlata Ulicka in Czech is a small street near Prague Castle. Originally it was built in the 16th century to house Rudolf II’s castle guards. The name comes from the goldsmiths that used to live here. Today, the Lane consists of small, colorful houses turned into souvenir shops and an armory museum. One of the houses, number 22 used to be a home of Kafka’s sister, where he wrote his masterpieces for two years! There’s an entrance fee, but after 4pm it’s free. But note that the shops and museum might be closed. #prague #czechrepublic #czechia #thingstodo #art #history #architecture
