You know when you go to a upmarket district such as Wimbledon that the food is almost always going to be good. Such places just wouldn't survive otherwise. Giggling Squid is much more than simply good and its attention to service give this culinary experience a real lift. This chain of a dozen restaurants nationally, serve up all the normal Thai treats such as Pad Thai, Tom Yum soups, Green & Red curries, besides an interesting cashew nut stir fry and of course squid! The Chicken Thai green curry was zesty and flavoursome and worked in harmony with the bowl of jasmine rice. The chunks of pepper, green beans were delish and were well balanced in quantity with the chicken. The sauce had an even colouring; none of the blobs of oil one might find in a poorly prepared stir-in sauces at home! The tables could have been a little further apart, particularly at the entrance; something more akin to the seating of a Mediterranean restaurant than that of a Thai. In conclusion Giggling Squid has won me over and I shall be returning to the branch in Bath once I'm on home turf. Two main meals came to a very affordable £32.29 including service charge.
