東大寺 大仏殿
Pay to enter the Daibutsuden (The Great Buddha Hall), inside Todai-ji. Regardless of your religious belief, it pays to see the mastery of human workmanship in constructing this grand structure. This Buddha figure is the largest bronze statue in the world. Initially constructed between 743-751, it took the united efforts of more than 2600,000 people to complete. The temple has been rebuilt twice following destruction from natural disasters. The current building after reconstruction is actually 30% smaller than its predecessor which goes to show how much tenacity went into the first construction! #nara #japan #kansai #kyoto #history #architecture #art #nofilter
