Come to this awe-inspiring museum and explore a real US aircraft carrier, a cruise missle submarine, the Concorde SST and an actual space shuttle. They’ve also got a great calendar full of cultural events, can host children’s birthday parties and even offer frequent and popular sleep-overs for the kids! One thing that I really like about this place is the balance they strike. The displays honor those who have served in the military, highlights well-researched aspects of military history and show off gee-whiz gadgetry without overtly promoting militarism. In these days, with our country so tremendously divided politically, a visit here is something that folks all along the political spectrum can enjoy.
