Start with JR Nara Station rather than Kintetsu Nara Station even though the star attraction, Nara Park, is purportedly closer to the latter. We ended up on the JR railway instead of the Kintetsu subway by mistake. However, this was actually a blessing in disguise as we learned from the ground staff that the scenery and attractions inside Nara Park at the furthest from the train stations were much nicer. From the bus terminal next to JR Nara Station, take the bus meant for Nara Park which is approximately 10 minutes away. From that point, make your way to Kintetsu Nara Station back to the city.
