This venerable German book publisher, is probably the premier printer of high quality art books in the world and supports only about a dozen retail stores around the globe. While you can make a purchase from their fine selection of low priced books on art and architecture, what Taschen is really known for is the big ticket items. They’ve got limited editions on a huge variety of subjects ranging from Renaissance painting to some out-there erotica which may require as much as a five figure payment and quite possibly a forklift to transport. I’ve seen their books referred to as “mini museums” and I quite agree. You don’t just peruse their inventory, you experience it.
