Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral
Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral is the oldest Christian place of worship in The Gambia. It was built by the British during occupation at the beginning of the twentieth century and has kept its timeless charm since its early construction. The warden opened the place especially for my visit which felt like an honour. The cathedral looks more like a choice than anything perhaps due to its simplistic interior and lack of ostentation. I particularly took to the colourful wall designs in the nave which depict Gambian life, in a nutshell.
