If there's one statue to give reverence to in Brno it's almost got to be The Memorial of Three. The trilateral pyramid is a symbol for the three periods of despotism in the Czech Republic from the two world wars to the communist era. What moves me about the model is its location, after much indecisiveness as to where it would be finally unveiled. In 2006 ended up on a grassy patch of lawn facing the Regional Court; undisturbed and yet prominently positioned on the busy Roosevelt Street. #art #history #free
