House Budkovic epitomizes a clean hostel with all the essentials needed to get the most out of a backpacking trip through Slovenia. In fact you could not be in a more central location. For a mountain town such as Bohinska Bistrica, I was very comfortable here indeed. The hostel provides private rooms, which we opted for, and the shared bathrooms are very well maintained and cleaned. On reflection there wasn't one moment I didn't have the bathroom to myself. There is a sizable lounge for communal use and a kitchen in which to cook if you prefer not to eat out. The hostel also provides a range of adrenalin sports and excursions in and around the alpine area. We were set for our hike north to Zajamniki and gained some useful information about how to get close to the hiking trails without a car. Whilst the price is not cheap, it is an affordable option for those wishing for some comfort. It's also a great base to explore the region. The bedrooms are quiet, oozing character from their tasteful antiques, coinciding with the overall interior of the building.
