York House Gardens
These seventeenth century gardens of once earls and courtiers; York House Gardens are all you'd expect of lordships. Rose gardens, manicured bushes and even a stone footbridge over a lane leading to York House make for some pleasing picnicking and strolling. To one side are the famed Naked Ladies statues who appear in this restful landscaped garden and also appear as the name of local ale in a nearby pub. They also provide a backdrop to outdoor Shakespearean performances of Midsummer Nights Dream during the summer.
