It will come as no surprise that the Brooklyn Academy of Music is a favorite spot of locals for enjoying high quality musical and (especially) dance performances as well as more art house type films. But they also excel in the theatre department and have a well deserved reputation for putting on thoughtful and often very powerful cutting-edge dramas. Whatever you decide to take in at BAM, just make sure you are headed to the right venue in the right building, there are several spaces and it can get a little confusing.
