Punta Uva is a magical place that is perfect for DIY snorkeling. I suggest you rent a bike from Puerto Viejo and enjoy the 20 minute bike ride to Punta Uva. There is a cliff that juts out into the ocean, and the two beaches on either side are called Punta Uva. Pass the first beach and go toward the south side of the cliff, where you’ll find another beautiful beach with crystal clear water. Make sure you bring your own snorkel gear so you can explore the endless reef system right off the beach. Afterwards, visit the north beach on your way back.
