Visit Todai-ji, if you have to choose between the temples. Todai-ji is listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara”. It also serves as the Japanese headquarter for the Kegon school of Buddhism. It is difficult not to be awestruck by the majestic and impressive Nandaimon (Great South Gate) as you step into the compound; besides discovering other national monuments inside this grand complex.
