Costa Rica translates to “rich coast,” a fitting name for a country where the number of beautiful beaches is nearly endless. The following 10 beaches are my favorites, and they do not disappoint. What makes the beaches of Costa Rica so special is their remoteness. Always come prepared with sunscreen, water, food, and whatever else you need to be comfortable. You’ll notice that many of these beaches have similar characteristics—they are usually large and expansive with fine-grain sand that tickles your toes in the best ways possible. There is thick jungle that separates the beaches from the road. And the waters are usually clear with various shades of blue. Please do your part by keeping Costa Rica’s beaches clean and beautiful.
