Macedonia, until recently, has been the subject of border disputes and conflict. And yet it is hard to imagine any disturbance since its early formation well before Christ. Its two largest lakes (predominately owned by the country but shared with Greece and Albania), unique flora and warm hospitality make this Balkan state a place well worth seeing.
