Petrin Tower (Petrin Hill)
Petřín Tower is dubbed the Eiffel Tower of Prague and protrudes from Petřín Hill overlooking The Vltava River. The Seventeenth of November marks the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy in the Czech Republic. All important structures and buildings are illuminated in the colours of the national flag. Owing to the shootings of many activists against Nazism, the day is also referred to as International Students Day. More recently the day honours the start of the Velvet revolution 50 years later. This is one of the only times in the year one can see such landmarks lit up like this. Candles are given as an offering and the streets, regardless of the pandemic, hum with life. #petrin #Prague #czechrepublic #czechia #thingstodo #viewpoint #views #hiking
