Signal Festival
The Signal Festival in Prague is a four-day, annual event projecting dozens of light installations, spread across three districts of Prague. Digital art takes to the streets and illuminates public buildings, churches and squares. Most venues are free making for a fun-filled evening with the stars. The night was ideal, owing to a clear sky and full moon. Then it was just a case of 'sitting back' and watching the show.
It's the seventh year the Signal Festival has been running and 2019 is particularly special. Thirty years have passed since the Velvet Revolution and thus the theme is Revolution. It's a reflection of the past and new perspective for the future. Each projection works in cycles giving onlookers ample opportunity to check out multiple shows in an evening. Food stalls line the tree studded parks, whilst stall holders flog Glow Frame Glasses on cheap stands. They're 200 krones a piece!
Basing oneself in one area of Prague namely, Karlín, Old Town or Mala Strana is your best bet. The cluster of presentations can be seen in a few hours comfortably. Then perhaps you can tackle another zone for some impressive projection mapping in the capital.
