Next Door by Imperial
I had been wanting to go to Next Door by Imperial, since its creation in 2016. Walking through the door felt like it had only just opened. There was a warm feeling on entering and we were guided to our table close to the glass ceiling in the main dining area. The open kitchen runs right along the dining area and there's a great vibe emanating from the waiters busying themselves around the satisfied diners. As far as the food was concerned it was exactly what I'd hoped for and rather presentable. Cooking here focuses on strong Czech personalities with an international twist. I couldn't resist going for the leg of veal with parsley knedlíky. The meat was cooked to perfection and the dumplings were moist and ideal for mopping up the creamy cepe sauce. These mushrooms are ubiquitous throughout Czech lands, and I was agog to know how it would turn out in such a sauce. It was delicious. Three dishes, two cocktails a glass of red and three crayfish tail soup came to a little over 100 GBP. Not being a spontaneous tipper, I was somewhat relieved to find 10% service charge was automatically added. Owing to the swift, polite and gentle service I had no qualms with that. #international #czechfood #restaurants #fine-dining
