Taro is an upmarket establishment in the pulsating heart of Andel, Prague. The menu combines Vietnamese cooking with a twist of European influence. What I particularly like about this venue is the layout. Chefs shuffle around an open kitchen placed inside a bar where most diners are seated. Owing to the unique design, the restaurant has a lively ambiance. Chefs double up as waiters here making the place quite atmospheric. Food is presented with an attention to detail and despite small portions, one’s appetite is easily sated. Like with many high-end restaurants the meal began with a complimentary hors d’oeuvre; pork spring roll. I can not fault Taro for the price and location. At 515 CZK (circa $22 US) for two courses and toothsome raspberry and ginger lemonade I can’t balk at it.
