Al Alam palace is actually out of bounds to outsiders but the grounds are completely free to roam! You are allowed all the way up to the gate to get a peek inside at the oddly futuristic looking palace that sits in the old city of Mutrah. The gardens are impressive and highly manicured just like every other green patch in the city (seriously...they’re always gardening!)
