10 Ways to experience a cozy winter in Japan:North east and North West
Japan is a country I can never get tired of. In Tokyo for instance, you can get over-stimulated (think of the shops and cosplayers at Harajuku) and yet withdraw into your contemplative space when you want (think of a Shinto shrine, day, Meiji Jingu 明治神宫). My desire is to experience Japan in all four seasons and to see what it can offer in each different season. So far, I have seen Japan in autumn and winter. The end of year is typically a time for the Japanese, as a nation, to celebrate and rest for the hard work through the earlier part of the year. It is not unusual to find shops and places of interest close during this season. So whilst you may not be able to visit many places during this time in Japan, there are still experiences you can have in Japan during this quiet period.
