Traveling to Tokyo with family and kids in the spring. Wondering what area/community you guys might suggest. Don’t need the area where the clubs are jammin’ all night, but would like to be close to what we should see and do.

What are you hoping to see and do there? Tokyo is huge so it really depends on what interests you. The two areas that come to mind are the west (Shinjuku) or Asakusa (northeast-ish). Tokyo doesn't really have any loud nightlife areas....maaaaybe Roppongi would qualify but it's not really loud, just… 
I was in Tokyo las year and stayed in Nakameguro. The place is really easy going, it has great restaurants, bars, a nice river walk and is just a couple stations from Shibuya.
I agree with you're not going to be overwhelmed with clubs bumping and keeping you awake pretty much anywhere in Tokyo. I agree with Shinjuku, it's a cool part of town and the metro station there has several different lines so it's easy to get everywhere. Meiji Shrine and Shinjuku Gyoen… 
While im only travelling as a couple this spring, i had the same question and after hours of google street view walking and airbnb and booking sites digging i decided to go with shinjuku near Okubo station. Reason i booked there and not next to shinjuku station was price of the bnb and ease of…
